Sharjah Art Society
Established in 1980, this nonprofit making association is a member of the Arab Art Association and the International Art Association (Arab) in Paris. The head Office of the society is in Sharjah with branches in Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Khorfakkan. The Society in general promotes art and art education, especially among the local youth.
Members are entitled to free use of the society’s exhibition halls and assistance is given in promoting artists’ work. The centre in Sharjah with its attractive enclosed courtyard is open to visitors and offers summer workshops to non - members.
OBJECTIVES
-Patronizing national fine arts. Facilitating artists to get together.
-Promoting creative abilities of national artists.
-Providing training to talented national artists through workshops, seminars, lectures etc.
-Supporting local artists morally and by exposing them to the public through exhibitions.
-Defining and securing artistic rights of the members and associates.
-Representing the local artists at national and international levels in various art exhibitions and art related activities.
The Emirates Fine Arts Society helps promote art education and art appreciation among the public and conduct art sessions at various levels, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphics, photography and calligraphy.
It also organizes lectures, seminars and workshops and produces publications and periodicals on fine arts.
The center in Sharjah is open to visitors, so you can wander in and view the latest works and exhibits, which are regularly changed.
Upstairs there is a multilingual library.
Members are entitled to free use of the Society’s exhibition halls in the Emirates. Assistance is given in promoting artists work including the production of free programs, catalogues and invitations.
