Sharjah Tourism Joins Ramadan Charity Campaign To Help The Needy Once Again

HE Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Director General, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority has lauded the Sharjah Charity Association’s Ramadan charity drive that is not just limited to the holy month of Ramadan but is conducted throughout the year to support prominent humanitarian projects and charitable causes in the country and around the world, including helping needy students, orphans and poor families and schools, clinics and mosques. This came in Al Midfa’s statement announcing the Authority’s sponsoring of and association with the Ramadan charity campaign for the third consecutive year, which this year is held under the title of "Season of Virtue" and aims to help the poor and needy families with special charities and offerings such as Sadaqa, Zakat and Fitr that are unique to the holy month. Al Midfa said that the Authority is keen and proud to continue its support for the Sharjah Ramadan charity drive which crucially contributes and provides for the needs of the poor and the needy during the holy month. The Ramadan charity is one of the most important humanitarian causes in the emirate and the cooperation between public and private sector institutions is crucial for a successful campaign supporting various humanitarian, social and charity causes in the emirate. Earlier, Al Midfa received HE Abdullah Sultan Bin Khadim, Board member and Chief Executive of the Sharjah Charity Association and other senior officials to discuss the SCTDA’s support sponsorship of the Ramadan charity campaign, emphasising the cooperation and solidarity of all Sharjah government bodies and entities for the success of the special charity drive during the holy month. For his part, Bin Khadim thanked the Authority for its continuous support to the Ramadan charity campaign reflecting the true spirit of sharing and caring and fellowship during the holy month. He also offered an overview of the Sharjah Charity Association’s activities and services and the humanitarian causes and recipients who have benefited from the Ramadan charity campaign. It is worth mentioning that that the Sharjah Charity Association has identified 85 locations across the emirate to provide Iftar meal throughout the holy month. The Association is planning to distribute some 17,000 Iftar meals across the emirate. In addition to the 33 locations in the city of Sharjah, the Iftar service will be offered at 18 locations in the city of Dhaid, 12 locations in the city of Khor Fakkan,11 locations in Kalba and seven sites in the city of Dibba Al Hisn, at a cost of up to Dh 5 million. The Association is also planning Iftar gatherings in 45 countries in coordination with the UAE foreign missions at a cost of million dirhams. |
