(5 November 2013)

Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa, today announced that it has launched flights to Hofuf, making it the tenth destination in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that the airline serves from its main base in Sharjah. The regular service to the Eastern Province in the Kingdom marks the airline’s 87th global destination.

Starting November 18, 2013, Air Arabia will offer services to Hofuf on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing from Sharjah International Airport at 17:20 and arriving at Hofuf International Airport at 17:50. Return flights will depart from Hofuf on the same days at 18:30 and arrive in Sharjah at 20:55.

“We are delighted to launch the regular service to Hofuf-Al Ahsa’a, which testifies our promise to expand our Kingdom-wide presence,” said, Adel Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer, Air Arabia. “As we are committed to offering our value-for-money services to even more destinations in the Kingdom, we will continue to evaluate opportunities in this vibrant market. That said, we are confident that the increased air connectivity between the UAE and Saudi Arabia will further contribute to the ever strengthening social and economic ties between both nations.”

Air Arabia currently operates over 80 non-stop weekly flights from its Sharjah hub to Riyadh, Jeddah, Madina, Dammam, Qassim, Yanbu, Taif, Hail and Abha in Saudi Arabia. The low-cost pioneer also flies over 10 times weekly to Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah from its Alexandria hub in Egypt.
