Exciting Competitions In Sharjah Islamic Bank Ramadan Sporting Championship At Wasit Suburb Council

Sharjah Islamic Bank concluded its Ramadan Sports Championship which was organized in collaboration with Wasit Suburb Council, and attended by HE Mohammed Rashid Bayat, Chairman of Wasit Suburb Council, Ali Mohammed Al Owais, Deputy Chairman of the council and Hassan Al Balghouni, Head of Public Relations and CSR Division at Sharjah Islamic Bank. The championship saw exciting competitions among Wasit Suburb Council’s and Sharjah Islamic Bank’s employees and members of the community from different nationalities and age groups. Abdul Rahman Al Balghouni was the winner in Ping-Pong competition and Mosadak Khan was the runner-up. The duet Yousef Hussain and Salah Al Hosani won the Babyfoot competitions, followed by Ishaq Al Obaidly and Ahmed Ghazi. First and second winners received trophies and Sharjah Islamic Bank’s prepaid MasterCard, with amounts of AED1500 and AED1000 for first and second winners, respectively. Speaking on the occasion, Hassan Al Balghouni, Head of Public Relations and CSR Division at Sharjah Islamic Bank, said: “We aim through this Ramadan championship to enhance the presence of sport in our lives, strengthen ties among participants and highlight the role of Sharjah’s local councils in hosting such initiatives. We confirm our willingness to go forward in this way to better serve the interests of all our people, as part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility strategy”. He added that the bank has given each winner a prepaid MasterCard from Sharjah Islamic Bank which features many advantages such as easy deposits and withdrawals, global acceptance and safe online transactions, in addition to the benefits of credit cards. The championship, which is one of the Ramadan social initiatives organized by the bank in Ramadan annually, was run amid an atmosphere of joy and friendliness. It aims to encourage members of community to exercise and participate in sports, to develop sustainable social ties and to promote the spirit of competition and excellence to win the prizes. Sharjah Islamic Bank has recently organised a special Ramadan evening for people with special needs at Wasit Suburb in Sharjah. Themed “Integration with People with Disabilities”, the event included a variety of sporting and cultural activities, and was attended by 200 participants from the members of Al Thiqah Club for Handicapped in addition to numerous guests, officials and employees from the bank and members of Wasit Suburb Council. The evening included many disciplines of sport which allow integration of people with disabilities with their non-disabled peers in each activity, with the aim to serve the goal of properly integrating society. |
