Sharjah 1st Summer Campaign Launched With Entertainment, Promotions Packages To Attract Tourists

The Sharjah Summer campaign, which will last the entire season, kicked off during the Eid holidays for the first time in the emirate. The details began to unfold on June 27 displaying a huge range of entertainment events and activities for children and families, along with exclusive promotions by government entities, hotels, malls, travel agencies and airlines. More details are expected during summer. The campaign, organised by numerous public and private sector institutions under the umbrella of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, SCTDA, aims to offer a comprehensive tourism experience for residents and visitors. With well-planned programmes, the emirate provides a distinguished quality of family entertainment making Sharjah a major summer getaway on the international tourism map. Several government entities and public sector institutions have expressed keen interest in the Sharjah Summer campaign, SCTDA Chairman Khalid Jasim Al Midfa said. Ever since the announcement, Sharjah Summer has managed to attract 28 contributors from different public and private sector institutions and some more are expected to join. The campaign’s vision is to ensure residents and visitors enjoy their stay in the emirate and to attract tourists from the emirate and abroad, he added. Government entities taking part in this first-ever campaign in the emirate include the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, Economic Department, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Museums Department, Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Air Arabia, Sharjah Art Foundation, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, Sharjah International Airport, and Sharjah Women Sports Foundation. With the aim of fostering cultural experiences in the emirate, a host of educational programmes and workshops have been organised targeting different age groups. People with disabilities have not been left out in this attempt, Al Midfa said. Relevant parties in the emirate are organising camps and interactive picnics that include internal and external educational visits. Hotel and tourism sectors are offering huge discounts between 10 and 50 percent. Offers cover travel and hotel reservations, health clubs, wedding parties and food. Many tourism programmes include free transportation to and from Sharjah airport and hotels and free entrance to entertainment events. Tourism facilities taking part in Sharjah Summer are Hilton Sharjah, Radisson Blu, Royal Tulip 72, the Act Hotel, Sheraton Sharjah, Swiss-Belhotel Sharjah, Oceanic Khor Fakkan Resort and Spa, Hotel Holiday International, Marbella Resort, Royal Beach Resort, Al Majaz Hotel, SATA, Cozmo Travel, Orient Tours, Breeze Tours, Sahara Center, and Mega Mall.
