The Environment And Protected Areas Authority In Sharjah Launches The Second Edition Of Its Summer Programme

The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA) launched the second edition of its children and young adult summer programme yesterday, July XX. Themed “Together for a More Beautiful Summer”, the fun-filled programme will run until the 13th of July, targeting the 9-15 age group. The initiative is part of the authority’s environmental and awareness activities which are aimed at developing the skills and talents of students, encouraging them to make the best use of their free time. HE Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA), commented: “The authority aims to develop creative thinking, promote teamwork and create a positive educational environment conducive to creativity in addition to introducing innovative and educational workshops”. She added that the programme will targets 30 students and that advertisements were placed in public areas to attract participants. The summer programme will include a number of entertaining activities and workshops, ranging from awareness to environmental and educational tours and entertaining city sightseeing tours. The programme will also include workshops and awareness lectures at the Desert Park centres. At the end of the programme, participants will take evaluation tests before the closing ceremony. Al Suwaidi clarified that the programme venues include Arabia’s Wildlife Centre, Sharjah Aquarium, Falcon Hospital, Dubai Dolphinarium in Creek Park, the Natural History and Botanical Museum, Ski Dubai in Mall of the Emirates, the Islamic Park and Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre. Al Suwaidi stressed that the authority is committed to organising such activities and programmes under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, which focus on the importance of wildlife and biodiversity conservation through scientific research, awareness policies and the support of sustainable development principles. |
