The General Directorate of the Sharjah Police has launched an electronic auction for 150 specialized category 3 license plate numbers for private cars. This move comes in cooperation with Emirates Auction, the leading company in organizing and managing public and online auctions in the Middle East. The auction, launched by the Sharjah Police and initiated by Emirates Auction, was launched last evening via the Emirates Auction website; and features a single two-digit license plate (No. 77) in addition to a variety of other specialized numbers for varying plates. There are currently 9 three-digit specialized number plates up for bid alongside 71 four-digit plates, and 69 five-digit plates. The auction, which will conclude Saturday evening, features the following specialized numbers: three digits (555, 600, and 155); four digits (1001, 3000, 5050, and 8484); and five digits (10000, 11111, 15000, and 26000). The auction additionally includes several other numbers for those who wish to purchase specialized numbered license plates. Brigadier General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, said that offering this new selection of specialized numbers for license plates via an online auction in cooperation with Emirates Auction is part of Sharjah Police’s commitment to making citizens and residents who are interested in owning license plates with special numbers happy. Further, this moves falls in line with the Sharjah government’s vision and the Interior Ministry’s strategy for achieving client satisfaction and improving the provision of services according to the best international practices and the highest criteria of excellence and innovation. Brig. Gen. Al Shamsi stressed that allowing everyone to acquire premium car plates through the world's most competitive and transparent bidding systems in accordance with the highest standards of quality, professionalism and reliability is one of Sharjah Police's initiatives to serve both the public interest and customer satisfaction. For his part, His Excellency Abdulla Matar Al Mannaei, CEO and Managing Director of Emirates Auction, said that organizing the third and fourth online auctions for the General Directorate of the Sharjah Police falls in line with the framework of constructive cooperation for the standing partnership between both parties. “This partnership is a great source of price and happiness for Emirates Auction, and stands to highlight the current and previous success that we have achieved over the past years,” he said. Al Mannaei also noted that the fourth online auction enables enthusiasts of specialized license plates in Sharjah to achieve their desires and increase their investments. This is particularly so, he said, considering that the auction features a number of attractive numbers. He indicated his impression that he believes that this auction would reach a record number of bids, particularly for the two-digit license plate (77). He added that the auction is conducted in accordance with the best international standards for online auctions. Online auctions organized and managed by Emirates Auction are highly transparent, dynamic, and easy to share with the public. To access the auction presented by the Sharjah Police and bid, participants are welcomed to visit the Emirates Auction website (www.emiratesauction.com) or to download the smartphone app. The auction will conclude on Saturday evening. Participation in the auction requires registering on the website or via the app. The minimum bid for a license plate runs between AED 200 –1,000, with a deposit of 20% of the bid limit required via bank deposit or cash transfer. A payment completion bill and certificate of full ownership for the number will be issued following the conclusion of the auction. Winners of the auction are entitled to waive their rights of ownership to a third party following receipt of the certificate of ownership. It should be noted that an additional five minutes are given following each bid price in order to allow other competitors to bid up until the conclusion of the auction. The Emirates Auction has successfully organized a significant number of auctions since its inception in 2004—most notably including the sale of the world’s top 10 most expensive license plates, earning it a place among the top regional auction companies. The company has also managed to exceed expectations in a very short amount of time, with a record number of achievements and successes including the setting of seven Guinness World Records alongside the provision of higher returns on goods sold in auctions for their public and private clients alike. This embodies the company’s commitment to complying with the highest international standards in customer service. |
