Over 30 MW Electricity Savings Rate During ’Peak Hour’ In Sharjah

Othman Sorour Almas, Director of the Control Centre at the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, has confirmed that the rate of savings of electricity during the "Peak Hour" initiative has reached 39 MW. He told the "Sharjah 24," that the "Peak Hour" initiative begins on 1st July each year from 14.30 to 15.30 pm, when there is increasing demand for electricity and loads reach their peaks. During the "Peak Hour," the saving rate is 39 MW per hour, which is equivalent to 23.4 tonnes of carbon dioxide, he said. He stressed that reductions of the same proportion will result in 936 MW per day, which is equivalent to 11.232 MWh per year. |
