Emirates NBD participates at Sharjah National Career Exhibition 2019

As part of the bank's strategy to boost Emiratisation efforts, Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, today announced its participation at the Sharjah National Career Exhibition, which will be held from 06 – 08 February at Expo Centre Sharjah. The bank’s participation is in line with its commitment to nurture young Emirati talent and boost the UAE’s Emiratisation drive which aims at increasing the UAE national talent pool in the banking sector. At the exhibition, Emirates NBD will conduct on-the-spot interviews to offer admissions to candidates aspiring for careers in the banking sector and offer on-the-spot entries to applicants in their exclusive 'Programme for Accelerated Learning' (PAL), talent advancement programme for university graduates. PAL is a 12 -18 months extensive training programme that covers basic and complex banking systems, discussion skills, delegation skills, inspiration theories, and development training amongst others. The programme includes on-the-job training with Certificate in Finance Accounting and Business (CFAB), Certified Banking Operations (CBO) & Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) enabling UAE National employees to gain banking experience whilst preparing them for a range of roles within the bank. Emirates NBD is also inviting applications from high school graduates for Al Misha’al, an exclusive six-month training programme designed for key front-line positions such as Tellers and Customer Service Executives. Besides job-specific knowledge, the programme is designed to develop communication and English language skills and the ability to work in large corporate teams. Commenting on the bank’s participation at Sharjah National Career Exhibition 2019, Husam Al Sayed, Group Chief Human Resource Officer, Emirates NBD, said: “As a home-grown bank and market leader in the UAE’s banking sector, Emiratisation has always been a key part of Emirates NBD’s strategy and we continuously invest heavily in training programmes to hone local talent and enhance their professional skills and capabilities. In 2018, the bank employed more than 300 ambitious Emiratis though employment fairs and our overall commitment for this year is to hire approximately 150 high school graduates for the Al Misha’al program and 70 university graduates for the PAL program.” In addition to the spots in its trainee programmes, the bank is also looking to hire experienced Emirati applicants across a range of positions, starting from junior to managerial posts. As part of the bank’s Emiratisation strategy and commitment to nurturing young Emirati talent, Emirates NBD also runs Menha, a scholarship programme that provides financial support to UAE national students, while opening doors to future career opportunities at Emirates NBD. |
