Sharjah Charity’s clothing project spent AED 3.3 mn in 2018

Sharjah Charity International, SCI, has revealed that during the past year it distributed 31,500 traditional male and female robes and provided cards to buy readymade clothes worth AED3.3 million, while the number of beneficiaries registered with the charity rose to nearly 15,000. 

Abdulla Mubarak Al-Dukhan, Secretary-General of the SCI, said that the project "From Your Old to Their New", received donations from the benefactors of used clothes and their recycling contributed during the past year to the provision of 17,000 kandooras and 14,500 abayahs for the registrants, at a cost of AED2.8 million, while 500 families received cards for the purchase of readymade garments worth AED500,000, bringing the total expenditure to AED3.3 million. 

The project receives donations from the benefactors who donate their old clothes which are then sorted out through one of the pilot projects that reflect the keenness of the officials of the charity and its sponsors. These are donated to needy families and beneficiaries of the charity.
