High-Ranking Chinese Delegation Hails Expo Centre Sharjah’s Global Reputation

His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al-Midfa, the CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, recently, received in his office a high-ranking Chinese delegation headed by the Chairwoman of Shenyang’s World Trade Center and in the presence of Mr. Sultan Shattaf, Marketing and Business Development Director, Expo Centre Sharjah.

The two sides reviewed ways of enhancing joint cooperation and harnessing the substantial expertise of both parties in organizing and hosting major exhibitions. The meeting also touched on enhancing the existence of Chinese companies in the exhibitions organized by Expo Centre over the year, in addition to strengthening the participation of Sharjah’s business community in the exhibitions held in China.

In this regard, Al-Midfa said that the Centre is ready to provide all forms of support and facility to Chinese companies willing to participate in diverse economic exhibitions and events organized by Expo Centre Sharjah. This will foster the existence of those companies in the regional markets.

On the other hand, the Chinese delegation showed interest in learning more about Expo Centre’s best organizational and technical practices which enable the Centre to organize a large number of regularly specialized international exhibitions such as Watch & Jewelry Middle East Show which is held twice per annum and Steel Fab which forms the biggest commercial event across the Middle East, in addition to other international exhibitions which gather investors and businessmen around the globe. 

In the same context, members of the Chinese delegation were briefed about the Centre’s annual events and the upcoming exhibitions.

In turn, Al-Midfa emphasized the importance of Chinese enterprises participation in these exhibitions and utilization of the great incentives and potentials the Expo Centre provides to those companies so as to develop their business and reinforce their existence in the regional markets of the Middle East.

The CEO of Expo Centre also underscored his keenness on developing business between Sharjah and China through the exploitation of exhibitions industry which plays a vital role in establishing partnerships between both sides. Furthermore, he shed light on the significance of increasing trade exchange, enhancing investments, sharing experiences and bolstering the other economic sectors.

For her part, Christina Shen, Chairwoman of World Trade Center Shenyang, hailed the Expo Centre Sharjah’s high profile and its great reputation regionally and internationally. She attributed the Expo Centre’s prominent place to the accumulative experiences over the years, expressing her admiration about the Centre’s massive potentials and high-level services, in addition to the various incentives and facilities the Centre provides to the exhibitors.

In the same context, members of the Chinese delegation stressed the keenness of Chinese companies to reinforce their existence in the Expo Centre’s upcoming economic events. They also invited the working companies in Sharjah to take part in China’s economic events so as to strengthen the trade exchange between both countries and consolidate the bilateral relationship between the UAE and China.

Worth mentioning that the relationship between both countries is witnessing significant growth. By the year 2020, the non-oil trade exchange between the two countries is projected to exceed $ 50 billion (185 billion AED) annually.
In addition to that, the UAE is considered China’s largest partner in the Middle East with 23% of Arab trade volume with China. On the other hand, the UAE has more than 4000 registered Chinese companies and 200,000 Chinese residents. Also, the UAE has the branches of the biggest four Chinese banks, in addition to 100 flights between the two countries weekly.
