Dubai Sports City has announced an extensive sports programme to start 2020 on a high note, catering for all age groups. Commenting on the January sign-up season, Chief Financial Officer of Dubai Sports City, Vijay Sajjanhar stated that the program aims to provide an active and fun-filled experience for all ages while discovering hidden talents through sports. Spanish Soccer Schools will start the new season in two venues: the International School of Choueifat – Dubai and Dubai Sports City Football Academy. Members of the Spanish Soccer School will have access to FIFA approved world-class facilities – including one indoor pitch and two full-size outdoor pitches. Unlike NJ Online casinos which admit adults only, the programs are tailored for all age groups, offering participants the chance to interact with international teams through tournaments or player visits to the academy. The new cricket term at the ICC Academy starts from January 7th onwards for a variety of age groups for boys and girls, with a programme specially designed by international coaches to offer high-potential players with chances to join the UAE team. The Claude Harmon III Performance Golf Academy will be offering a Junior Development Programme for young golfers between 3 and 15 years of age, with both beginner and intermediary courses starting from January 5 to March 7. The programme includes one kid’s class per week, one supervised practice session per week, and one group coaching session per week. The intermediate course starts at DH1,500 and beginners’ course starts at Dh180. With only a few days left until the 21st edition of the Dubai Marathon 2020 on January 24, Dubai Holding and the Dubai Sports Council has launched a ‘’My City My Race’’ campaign to raise the Emiratis’ participation in the event. Although there has been an increase in the number of Emiratis participating in the marathon in the last few years, the organisers are hoping that this campaign will see an increment in the number of runners from the community. The organisers would like to see more Emiratis line up alongside some of the world’s greatest marathon runners. Organised under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Marathon is the biggest mass participation sports event in the Middle East. In his statement at a press conference held to announce the campaign, the Director of Dubai Sports Council’s Sports Events Department, Khalid Al Awar, stated that the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon is the biggest mass-participation sports event, with the number of participants exceeding 30,000 in the last few years. According to Al Awar, they are expecting to breach the 50,000 mark in terms of participation this year due to an increase in awareness about physical fitness and activity among both expatriates and Emiratis. Al Awar also commended the initiatives launched under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan as they have to lead to an increase in participation as more and more people embrace a physically active lifestyle. Competitors will take part in the traditional marathon, 10Km run and the 4Km fun run, all starting from the iconic route on Jumeirah Beach Road. |
