SCCI And Sharjah Police To Hold "Economic Sustainability Forum 2020" On February 24

Under the new slogan “Sharjah … a Sustainable Safety and Economy”, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SCCI, and Sharjah Police will co-organize, on February 24, the "Economic Sustainability Forum 2020", under the new slogan “Sharjah … A Sustainable Safety and Economy”. This year’s edition is also seeing the cooperation with the Department of Economic Development, Sharjah Municipality, Sharjah Commercial & Tourism Development Authority, with the aim of achieving an integrated work performance. The forum will be discussing the outcomes of the security and police performance in controlling and reducing crime, the impact of the provision of digital services on the sustainability of Sharjah’s economy, and the integration of the government and private sector to enhance investment opportunities and economic development, something which strengthens the sustainability of security and economic prosperity in the emirate. This was stated during the recently held coordination meeting at the SCCI headquarters, in the presence of Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of SCCI’s Economic Relations and Marketing, Jamal Bu Zinjal, Head of Media Department, SCCI, Omar Ali Saleh, SCCI’s Economic Advisor, Major. Ahmed Mubarak Al-Junaibi, Captain. Hamid Khalfan Al-Kindy, Captain. Nadia Abdul Rahman Al-Hosani from Sharjah Police. Present at the meeting were representatives from the cooperating parties, including Dr. Amr Saleh Mohamed, economic advisor, the Department of Economic Development, Eng. Hassan Ali Nasser Al Mazmi, Head of Engineering Projects Auditing Section, Sharjah Municipality, and Mortada Mohammed Al-Zulai’i, Excellence Advisor, Sharjah Commercial & Tourism Development Authority. The meeting focused on discussing the ongoing preparations for organizing the 5th edition of the "Economic Sustainability Forum 2020", which aims to enhance security stability and examine innovative solutions to the challenges that may face the economic, industrial and commercial sectors in the Emirate of Sharjah. Strengthening Partnership Relations Commenting on the outcomes of the meeting, Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan underlined the SCCI’s keenness to enhance community partnership relations with Sharjah’s various institutions, and its relentless pursuit of effective contribution to serving the community in general and the business sector in particular. Al Jarwan added: “To that end, the SCCI is playing an active role in regulating economic life of the Emirate of Sharjah, and the prosperity of its commercial, industrial and professional sectors at all levels, in cooperation with concerned institutions and local departments, as well as the joint work with vital sectors of society, in addition to strengthening the effective partnership between security bodies and business sector enterprises in the emirate, by launching initiatives and adopting the principle of communication between all sectors concerned to identify challenges and turn them into opportunities for development, and to develop future strategic plans and indicators in accordance with the best international standards.” He shed light on the importance of this meeting between the SCCI, Sharjah Police, and the cooperating parties as well to enhance the frameworks of constant cooperation. This would help integrate joint efforts to achieve the economic development of the Emirate. Commending the Sharjah Police’s vital role in achieving security which is a driving motive and catalyst for economic prosperity, Al Jarwan concluded that the Economic Sustainability Forum 2020 is constituting an advanced platform that brings together Sharjah’s government authorities to mobilize efforts and energies towards promoting the pillars of economic progress and sustainable development in Sharjah in particular and the UAE in general. Promoting Security Services While the Sharjah Police Headquarter said: “This forum is in line with Sharjah Police’s strategy aimed at improving security services, enhancing the sense of safety for all members of society, and providing a stable and safe environment to achieve one of the most important goals of the national agenda for "UAE Vision 2021", which is to place the UAE one of the world’s best countries in achieving security and safety. This would also lead to achieving the goals of sustainable development and improve the lifestyle, as well as social and economic prosperity.” Expanding Areas of Cooperation The Sharjah Police welcomed the new cooperation with the Department of Economic Development, Sharjah Municipality, and Sharjah Commercial & Tourism Development Authority, pointing to importance of expanding areas of cooperation and strengthening community partnership relations with the various institutions of the emirate to follow up on the developments of the gains of the business sector and consolidate Sharjah's position in terms of the indicators of sustainable business practice, global competitiveness, innovation, entrepreneurship and other areas that grow and develop in view of security stability. The meeting emphasized the importance of joint work and the integration of efforts by adopting a number of recommendations and proposals that help enhance security stability and undermine potential risks in the economic, industrial and commercial sectors, owing to their impact on developing the economic life and strengthening the climate of stability in the Emirate of Sharjah. |
