10 Must-Have Products You Need To Fight Coronavirus
(30 March 2020)

Coronavirus has effectively placed the world on a temporary pause. The goal is to stop the spread of this virus by staying indoors and limiting contact with others. But that alone isn’t enough to fight Coronavirus. You also need to have a personal arsenal of disinfectants and cleaning products to keep your home happy, safe and clean. These also include personal hygiene products.

Here’s a list of the types of products you need for your home to protect your family against COVID-19.

Household Cleaners and Disinfectants

When thinking about cleaning your house, now is the time to go for products that disinfect, not just products that provide odor control or are designed to be multi surface cleaners without sanitization properties.

Also, keep in mind that every surface in your house is different and may require different products to thoroughly disinfect them. Read the labels carefully, as their instructions for disinfection vary as well. In general, you should have these kinds of cleaners in your home to help reduce your chances of contracting coronavirus:

Disinfectant Cleaning Sprays

These disinfection cleaning sprays are sprays designed to clean surfaces like counters, stoves, appliances and similar spaces. To disinfect, these generally require you to spray and wipe off after 10 minutes or allow the surface to air dry.

Aerosol Disinfectant Sprays

The most widely recognizable aerosol disinfectant spray is Lysol’s Brand III, but there are others. These sprays can be used to disinfect hard surfaces, toys, the air and fabrics. They usually work in about 10 minutes.

Fabric Disinfectant Sprays & Laundry Sanitizers

There are a few of these on the market. Clorox manufactures a dedicated fabric disinfectant spray, and Lysol developed a laundry sanitizer a few years ago. These kinds of products will keep your clothing sanitized.

Disinfectant Wipes

There are two types of disinfectant wipes. Those for surfaces and those for hands. The latter generally works instantly, but allows your hands to air dry. The former requires you to use enough wipes for the treated surface to remain wet for 4 minutes. These are good for doorknobs, handles and other small surfaces.

Concentrated Disinfectant Solutions

These cleaning products are designed usually as floor cleaners. Dilute the solution according to label instructions. Wipe or spray onto a surface and allow it to sit for 6 minutes, or use it with a bucket of water and a mop for floors. Allow it to air dry.

Bathroom Cleaners

Bathrooms can be some of the most filthy rooms in the house. Get a quality bathroom cleaner for your shower, toilet and sink. Spray onto the surface and leave for 10 minutes. Scrub/wipe and then rinse off.

Personal Hygiene Products

Hand Wash

Hand wash will be your number one defense against coronavirus. Get a quality hand wash and use it frequently throughout the day.

Hand Sanitizer

It’s always a good idea to have your hand sanitizer for the times you’re not able to wash your hands.

Body Wash

Some companies like Lifebuoy make antibacterial and disinfectant body washes and soap bars. One of these will ensure you go to bed as clean as possible.

You’re the line of defense against coronavirus entering and thriving in your home. With the proper products, you’ll be well equipped to fight this battle for your family.
