Sharjah Islamic Affairs Organises More Than 11,000 Lectures During First Week Of Ramadan

Sharjah Islamic Affairs announced it organised of 11,110 lessons and lectures during the first week of Ramadan across the emirate's mosques. Additionally, 32 lectures were conducted within governmental institutions, departments, and bodies, alongside 14 virtual sessions via various social media platforms. The Fatwa Centre under the department received over 900 inquiries and fatwas from the public via the toll-free number 8001441. A particular highlight of the department's Ramadan initiative was the hosting of a dedicated Ramadan night for women. Abdullah Khalifa Yaroof Al Sebusi, Chairman of Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department, emphasised the inclusivity of the Ramadan programme, encompassing all cities within the emirate. This initiative underscores the pivotal role of Ramadan in the Muslim community. The lessons and lectures focused on explaining the core principles of Ramadan and key aspects of fasting jurisprudence. The department also introduced lessons interpreting the Holy Quran, explaining the meanings of its vocabulary, and clarifying its rulings, orders and directives. The Department organised awareness lectures to urge the public to contribute to charitable work and explain the virtue of charity. The department designated certain mosques to cater to non-Arab communities, facilitating lessons conducted in English, Urdu, and Malaybari during the Holy Month of Ramadan. |
