(15 September 2010)

Region’s leading low-cost carrier to provide 14 flights per week to Nepali capital starting October 31, 2010.

Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa, announced today the expansion of service to the Nepali capital, Kathmandu, from the carrier’s primary hub in Sharjah, UAE. Beginning October 31, 2010, Air Arabia will offer twice-daily flights to the Himalayan city, making it easier and more convenient for passengers to visit this historic locale.

Air Arabia currently offers 12 flights a week to Kathmandu. Beginning October 31, the carrier will offer direct flights 14 times per week, departing Sharjah International Airport daily at 07:15 AM and 17:00 PM.

“Kathmandu is an ideal leisure destination for travellers seeking to experience the sights and sounds of this nearly 2,000-year-old city, nestled in the foothills of the Kathmandu Valley and in the shadow of the some of the world’s tallest mountains, including Mount Everest,” said AK Nizar, Head of Commercial Department, Air Arabia. “We are therefore extremely pleased to announce the expansion of service between Sharjah and the Nepali capital which will further enhance the travel options for the Nepalese community living in the Gulf.”

In addition to providing double-daily non-stop service to Kathmandu, Air Arabia also offers a range of value-for-money holiday packages to this Himalayan city, which are available through Air Arabia Holidays. For further information and vacation bookings, please visit: holidays.airarabia.com.
