Sharjah City Centre has been officially recognised as a ‘Mother-Baby Friendly’ shopping mall in the community, by the government. The initiative – which is the first of its kind in the UAE, is part of the Sharjah Baby-Friendly Emirate (SBFE) campaign, under the order of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, to promote, protect and support nursing mothers and families.

To mark the occasion, Sharjah City Centre in collaboration with Breast Feeding Friends Society recently invited mothers and their children to educate and promote the importance of natural feeding, and to inform them of the new ‘Mother-Baby Friendly’ provisions the mall has made to cater to them.

Mothers and families will be able to make use of the special facilities and resources available at Sharjah City Centre, while providing for their comfort, convenience and privacy. This includes designated feeding rooms, available brochures about natural feeding groups and support and training for customer service staff on how to support nursing mothers.
