The Sports Department at Sharjah Ladies Club, organized a “Winter Sports Camp” for children which continued for a period of 3 weeks. The event included several activities such as water polo games, cooking, glide and slide, fun on ice, and weekly trips at various places. The program aims to develop technical skills, sports, social and educational skills for children in an atmosphere of fun during the winter holiday.

The program included various age appropriate activities throughout 5days in a week, aimed in children having useful and enjoyable times, such as water polo games, “Zumba” classes, fun on ice, as well as watching movies and engaging in weekly trips. Programs of the camp have been developed and listed by experts and specialists that assure the intellectual development in children’s physical and mental activities.

“Our programs and camps are considered a special haven for children, offering various educational and entertaining activities all under one roof. We are keen in the variety of holding different activities focusing on different aspects of sporting, educational, entertaining activities, developing the children’s hobbies. As we have harnessed all the club’s facilities to serve the camp’s activities. We always strive in motivating children to practice different exercises in sports, such as swimming, skating and tennis for the big impact it has on children physically and mentally. We are glad of the great response from the program by the participants and their parents from previous camps. We hope to embrace more of such activities and programs which serves children in an effective and helpful way”, said Hala Al Far, Swimming Administrator at the Sharjah Ladies Club.

The camp includes trips to various educational and entertaining laces, aiming to break the daily routine for the participants, in teaching them in an outside atmosphere away from the classroom. These trips gained a huge success and high turnout from children in the previous camps, where the club is keen to have those weekly trips within all camps.

Mentioning that the Sports Winter Camp will continue until 3rd January, 2012, receiving girls ages between 5-17 years, and boys between 5-9 years old.
