Irish musician and activist Sir Bob Geldof has pledged his support for Manzil, the Sharjah-based non-profit organization and center that caters to the needs of diverse multinational children with mental challenges from 4 to 30 years of age.
Jumeirah Creekside Hotel supported Manzil by hosting the event in which Sir Bob enjoyed several art based activities with the students of Manzil. Having spent an hour with the children, he then accepted an honorary ambassadorial role with Manzil.
“He really bonded with the children and you could tell he was enjoying himself. We created a special ‘Bob Geldof’ bracelet that we would sell to raise funds and we presented him with the first piece. He was spotted wearing it later in the evening” said Dr Ayesha Saeed Husaini, Director of the Centre.
At the conclusion of the event, the Manzil students presented Sir Bob with a large artwork. He signed it ‘To Manzil, you are all Wonderful Brilliant & Beautiful!! ’
