The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority has wrapped up the third UAE-Korea Economic Forum in Seoul on an exciting note by winning the Award for Best Government Department Participant. The two-day summit concluded today (May 28) in the South Korean capital with more than 100 Sharjah government bodies and agencies taking part in the Forum, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President ad Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The Sharjah delegation to the UAE-Korea forum was organised by the SCTDA and was headed by HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation and Sharjah Media Centre. The delegation included senior representatives and heads of various Sharjah government bodies including the SCTDA, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Healthcare City and Sharjah Media Centre.
The third UAE-Korea forum turned out to be very productive for the members of the Sharjah delegation and included a number of fruitful meetings, trade talks and accords between leading South Korean and Asian companies, businessmen and investors and the prominent players in various sectors of the emirate—industrial, commercial and travel and tourism industry.
HE Mohamed Ali Al Noman, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority attributed the Award for the Best Government Participant in the Seoul summit to the Authority efforts to ensure a distinct presence of the emirate on the global stage and excellence of presence in international forums and exhibitions. “This Award adds to our responsibility and encourages us to excel and do even more to target new global markets, reinforcing Sharjah’s status locally, regionally and internationally,” Al Noman emphasised.
The SCTDA Chairman expressed his pleasure with the successful participation of the emirate in the Seoul forum leading to a number of productive meetings, agreements and strategic partnerships with major South Korean companies. He said that the third UAE-Korea economic partnership summit will contribute to stronger trade and economic relations and tourism with South Korea and will attract more international tourists and investors to Sharjah.
The third UAE-South Korea Economic Partnership Forum has been a result of joint efforts by the United Arab Emirates and South Korea to take their robust bilateral relations and economic cooperation to the next level. The Seoul forum has proved to be a unique platform for exchange of new ideas, innovations and developments in various fields of business and coopration.
