Islamic Lecture Series Begins At Expo Centre Sharjah

Ramadan Fair to host Indian scholar’s Urdu lecture today


 

Aiming to present the diverse and multidimensional facets of Islam, the ongoing Ramadan & Eid Fair in Sharjah is hosting a series of lectures by renowned scholars and practitioners every Thursday.

The religious lectures form an essential part of the fair, which is featuring a multitude of shopping, entertainment, cultural and amusement activities that appeal to visitors of all age groups and cultural backgrounds. It got under way at Expo Centre Sharjah on July 18 and will run until August 10.

On July 25, the first Thursday since its opening, the fair will host Shaikh Zafarul Hasan Madni, who has dedicated his life to Islam and is involved in providing guidance and direction to his fellow Muslim brothers and sisters in the region and across the world.

“Ramadan is a month of devotion and peace. Through the lectures every Ramadan we take the faithful on a blessed journey, helping them purify their soul and practice self-sacrifice. This year, we have lined up a series of lectures in different languages, beginning with Shaikh Zafarul Hasan Madni’s Urdu speech,” said Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-General, Expo Centre Sharah.

Zafarul Hasan Madni will deliver his lecture in Urdu about “The price of the paradise” (Jannet Ki Qeemat), targeting the expatriate population that belongs to the Sub-continent. It will commence at 11 pm at the conference hall of Expo Centre Sharjah.

Chosen by the government of Saudi Arabia to be the official teacher for Haj in 2004, India-born Zafarul Hasan Madni has been active in the UAE in the field of Da’wah for almost 25 years.

An author of several books, two of most popular ones being Tariqaa-e-Hajj and Ahkaam-e-Aqiqa, he has been invited by several international Islamic conferences and events to spread the word about Islam.

Other scholars who are taking part in the series include Al Shaikh Dr Mohammed Ghaith Al Ghaith (in Arabic), Al Shaikh Ehab Nadir (in English) and Al Shaikh Eisa Jaffer (in Tagalog).

The show is open for visitors from 8.30 p.m. to 1.30 a.m. during Ramadan and on weekends (Thursdays & Fridays) from 8.30 p.m. to 2 a.m.. During Eid holidays the visiting hours are from 5p.m. to 11p.m. Admission is free
