Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah investment Authority - Shurooq, Deputy Chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC), inaugurated A Ramadan Charity Suhoor part of the Be-Cause Campaign organized by SLC. Proceeds of the event will be donated to the “Big Heart Campaign” to support Syrian refugee children, which is launched by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme council for Family Affairs & SLC.
The Suhoor was attended by Sheikha Aysha bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Noura Al Noman Director General of the Executive Office of HH Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi (HHEO), Salha Ghabish, Head of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) Media and Cultural Committee and Khawla Al Serkal, Director of SLC.
First, H.E Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi was escorted by Khawla Al Serkal on a tour of the Ramadan Bazaar organized along with the Charity Suhoor. The bazaar included several works and products of small businesses, in addition to an exhibition for pre-owned handbags which comes in part with the campaign the club organized in Ramadan, titled "Donate a bag and put a smile on a child’s face”
Seikha Bodour Al Qasimi expressed her gratitude and happiness to the huge interaction received from the Emirati society on their participation in charitable work, and said “The UAE have always witnessed many humanitarian initiatives which reached to various parts of the world. Today, we witness and together we share the support of the noble campaign “the Big Heart” launched by HH Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi, first Eminent Advocate for refugee children around the globe” by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), an advocate to Syrian refugee children after the tragic situation and current issues in their homeland. Tonight, we are participating along with Sharjah Ladies Club through this community event for the “Big Heart” campaign to send the message to the Syrian people, that we are with you and we will not leave you”.
From her part, Sehikha Bodour called upon various institutes and individuals to carry their religious and humanitarian duty towards the people in Syria, through contributing and supporting the “Big heart” campaign, to draw hope in front of them. Moreover, Sheikha Bodour emphasized that the most distinguishing feature of today’s Ramadan gathering is the extent solidity of the UAE community in charitable work.
Then, Khawla Al Serkal started the Suhoor with a speech thanking Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi on her great initiative for the "Big Heart" campaign launched for the Syrian refugee children, which also received a huge donation from Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, as well as to other individuals and organizations for their great initiatives.
“SLC being a social service organization is always interested in social and charitable issues and always cares about woman & children issues. As it is our duty we have launched the annual charity campaign titled "Be-Cause" aimed to raise awareness and give back to the community, and this year coinciding with the Big Heart campaign and the Holy month of Ramadan; we decided to carry the title "Ramadan for a good cause" where returns of the proceeds will go to the Big Heart campaign", said Al Serkal.
Al Serkal also added: “Since the campaign was launched, SLC donated the amount of 100 thousand dirham. We as an SLC family assure our march along HH Sheikha Jawaher’s vision, by launching charitable campaigns and events for a good cause, which enhances our commitment and adaptation to high charitable campaigns and supporting all humanitarian issues.”
Afterward, an introduction video of the “Big Heart” charity campaign was played followed by a speech by Ayat El-Dewary, External Relations Associate at HHEO, Who praised the Wife of the Rule of Sharjah HH Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi on her ongoing initiatives, and assured her leading role in supporting Syrian refugee children. Her Highness deservedly earned the title “An Eminent Advocate for refugee children around the globe” by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), for her pioneering initiative in alleviating the sufferings of war and crises victims. Therefore, this proves and expresses her greatness love and care in humanitarian affairs. In conclusion, a new set of global brands handbags were presented for sale, where it was announced that 20% of the proceeds will be for the Big Heart Campaign.
In conclusion a donation of one million dirhams was announced for the “Big Heart campaign”, while another donation worth fifty thousand dirhams donated as well.
It is worthy to mention that SLC organized this Ramadan event for a period of 2 days, sponsored by Julfar. The event included a Ramadan Bazaar which included various luxurious products.
