The second edition of the magical South Indian International Movie Awards was a glittering, star-shimmering event held on 12th -13th of September, 2013 at The Expo Center Sharjah.

Organized by Anjanstar Events, the awards ceremony came to a remarkable end yesterday after having two consecutive star-studded nights.

With more than 7000 people attending the show, the event shone bright as celebrities from Bollywood and the South Indian Film Industry walked the red carpet to celebrate the best talents of 2012. Apart from the South Indian celebrities like VidyutJamwal, Prithviraj, PuneetRajkumar, KajalAggarwal, Asin, Dhanush, Simbu, Nayanthara, Priyamani, CharmeeKaur, Lakshmi Manchu, Shwetha Menon, and Simran; eminent personalities from Bollywood which included celebrities like Sridevi, BooneyKapoor, ShahidKapoor and Sohail Khan were also in attendance.

The SIIMA weekend kicked off with the Next Generation awards where new and fresh talent from the South Indian Industry along with the music fraternity werehonored. The event’s festivities came to an end with the main red carpet event where proud winners collected their trophies, and other celebritiesbedazzled the audience with their presence and performances.

Highlights of the second day evening included scintillating performances from glamorous and sensual divas of the South Indian Cinema. Shruti Hassan, Hansika, Shriya Saran along with Raginiput up performances to pay a tribute to yester-year South Indian actors and actresses. While Shruti Hassanpaid a tribute to Kamal Hassan;Hansika, Shreya and Ragini set the stage ablaze by performing on the hit number ofKhusboo, Sridevi, LaxmiMalasri andRamya.

In the midst of all these dazzling performances, envelopes were opened to reveal the award winners of 2012.

The lifetime achievement award was presented toSowcarJanaki and K.J. Yesudas while the award for “Ten years of contribution” in the industry was given toKavyaMadhavan and Trisha Krishnan.
