The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs organized an awareness lecture on political empowerment for students of Higher Colleges of Technology in Sharjah, highlighting the programme launched by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to enhance political participation in the UAE.
“This lecture was part of the ministry’s efforts to raise political awareness among university students and explain to them the programme of political empowerment and its role in strengthening the mission of the Federal National Council,” said His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs.
Highlighting the importance of involving all segments of the society in political participation, H.E. Lootah said, “The wise leadership of the country is keen to encourage young people, especially university students, because they are the ones who will achieve excellence and reach the highest global levels in the coming years.”
Delivering the lecture, His Excellency Dr. Saeed Mohammad Al Ghafli, Assistant Undersecretary for Federal National Council Affairs in the Ministry of State for Federal National Council, stressed that the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs is working on implementing the initiatives to promote a culture of political participation among all segments of the society, through various activities such as lectures, workshops, bulletins awareness, as well as theelectronic initiatives like the electronic empowerment bulletins and interactive website.
H.E also explained that the ministry is keen to enhance the coordination between the government and the Federal National Council, and oversee the development of parliamentary life in the UAE, which is considered a key part of its strategic objectives.
TarifaAjaif Al Zaabi, Head of Community Outreach & Student Success, HCT Sharjah, commended the important role of the MFNCA in enhancing awareness about political culture and highlighting it as a fundamental component of modern communities.
The lecture was attended by Dr. Muhdathah Hashemi director of Higher Colleges of Technology in Sharjah, and Tarifa Ajeef Al Zaabi, Dean of Student Affairs Office and institutional development, and more than 200 students.
