The biggest and the most prestigious annual automotive awards, The Middle East Motor Awards (MEMA), organized by Expo Centre Sharjah, will announce the winning cars for each of the 18 award categories after a seven-month-long voting and assessment process on 29th October 2013.
The winners of the awards, including, ’best supercar’, ’best sedan’, ‘best hatchback’, ’best SUV’ and the much coveted ’car of the year’ will be announced and presented at a gala awards ceremony to be held at the spectacular Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah, UAE.

The award nominations were based on various criteria such as performance, safety, design, handling and value-for-money, among others, and were assessed by a jury consisting of expert automotive journalists from ten Middle Eastern countries including, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman and UAE.
MEMA pulls together a vast array of expert and experienced motoring journalists from all across the region for its judging panel. There’s a complex scoring system that takes into account everything from design, performance and technology, right through to the car’s suitability to the Middle East. These are the ONLY awards that count! - said jury member Shahzad Sheikh, Editor-in-Chief, Motoring Middle East, UAE.
The nomination and judging process lasts well over seven months with each Jury member required to fill in individual scorecards for the nominated vehicles. All the scores are then tallied and the vehicles with the maximum points win the prestigious titles.

The Middle East Motor Awards nominees and winners are considered as a benchmark for consumers when it comes to purchase of new vehicles. Keeping that in mind, MEMA has not only organized a spectacular awards ceremony but is also giving consumers a unique opportunity to witness the awards live and also see the best vehicles on display at the awards venue.
The Middle East Motor Awards ceremony in association with Emirates Islamic Bank will be held at 8pm on 29th October 2013 at Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah, UAE. Visitors can see the nominated vehicles on display from 10am to 10pm from 29th October 2013 up till 1st November 2013 at Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah.
