(15 December 2013)

Sharjah Lifestyle Destination Adds More Than 120 Stores To Retail And Leisure Portfolio

Sahara Centre has announced the completion of the second phase of its mall extension, with more than 120 stores added to its retail portfolio. Sharjah’s shopping and leisure destination has invested millions in developing an architecturally unique annex containing new amenities and upgrades – improvements which have added one million sq.ft. to the total area which have resulted in a brand new image for the popular lifestyle location.

“The tagline ‘Like Never Before,’ embodies Sahara Centre’s new identity and reflects its contemporary outlook – it was the slogan of choice as this is the first time that customers in Sharjah have experienced what we are offering,” Akram Ammar, Managing Director, Sahara Centre. “We now have an even wider range of additional facilities for retail and leisure customers, including new fine dining area, a total revamped cinema, a bigger theme park with Adventureland along with latest rides and games, all of which add a new dimension to the mall. In total, we have increased the centre’s total leasable area by 60 per cent,” he added.

Sahara Centre extension’s stores include such prominent names as Zara, Iconic, Matalan, E-max, Baby Shop, Mango, Lacoste, Steve Madden, Tommy Hillfiger, Sunglass Hut, Swarovski, Promod, Bershka, Pull and Bear, Rodeo Drive, Ferre Milano, Vero Moda, Jack & Jones, Montblanc, Fred Perry, Samsonite, New Yorker, Faces, Crazy 8, Fitness First, City Sports, Calzedonia, Samsung, Eros Digital Home, Jumbo Electronics, Bose, Pixel Parc and Shoe Mart.

“There is no doubt that Sahara Centre has a new identity with the completion of its second phase,” said Ammar. “We have a world-class array of renowned brand retail outlets all contained within an innovative architectural structure. The upgraded interior facilities include floor tiles, wash and prayer rooms and other contemporary amenities, all set in an open environment that allows customers to enjoy a stress-free stroll from store to store,” he added.

Recreational improvements for thrill-seekers at Sahara Centre include its Adventureland extension, with its jungle and safari park theme offering more fun for families. Those who prefer their action to be a little more sedentary will be impressed with the changes that have been made to Grand Cinemas, situated on the first level of the mall. The movie house has been totally revamped with new audio and visual upgrades, making the experience in front of the silver screen an even more rewarding experience.

“We are confident that Sahara Centre is now the complete family shopping, dining and entertainment destination, with something for everyone. It now has a total of 350 Stores, 32 food court units, 10 cafes and nine new restaurants (Paul, Chopsticks, Bennigans, Al Halabi, Vapiano, Applebee’s, Russo’s New York Pizzeria, Esfahan and Kosebasi) which offer flavours like never before featuring international cuisines such as Italian, Chinese, European, Iranian, American and Lebanese, which are now available, for the first time in Sharjah,” said Ammar. “Our incredible range of leisure and recreation facilities is all conveniently located under one roof, with 3,500 covered and open parking spaces added for our customers’ convenience. The new extension has seen us become bigger and better by providing a brand new lifestyle experience like never before for our customers,” he added.
