Shurooq Promotes Investment Opportunities In Sharjah For GCC Investors

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority is participating in the 15th GCC Joint Exhibition, currently being held at the Expo Centre Sharjah, with the participation of economic organisations from the Gulf region.

Running until 30 May, the exhibition represents an opportunity for GCC business industry leaders to promote investment opportunities in the GCC countries and explore avenues of business cooperation among corporate and individual investors from the GCC countries.

Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, COO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority ( Shurooq ), said that Shurooq is promoting the vast investment opportunities in vibrant and fast growing sectors in the emirate of Sharjah, including travel and tourism, healthcare, transport and logistics and environment, affirming that investment in these four sectors entails exclusive privileges to GCC investors to give them the opportunity to benefit from the phenomenal growth in Sharjah.

Al Qaseer added: "We are seeking to make use of attendance from different investors and businessmen to promote projects launched by Shurooq with the aim to give a further boost to the already thriving tourism sector in the emirate, including Kalba Eco-Tourism project, the Al Jabal Resort -The Chedi Khorfakkan and Sir Bu Nair Island among more projects which will contribute to stimulating local economy and enhance investment climate which is supported by a great deal of facilities offered by the emirate of Sharjah to companies and businessmen".

Shurooq held a series of meetings with a group of businessmen and representatives of the participating investment entities. The authority took part in the GCC Businessmen Forum which was held under the title "Deepening the GCC Economic Integration", in presence of senior officials, businessmen and investors from the UAE and the GCC countries.

The 15th GCC Joint Exhibition offers an ideal platform for key professionals and business leaders from across the six Gulf nations to meet, network, share expertise and ideas and to benefit from the leading think tank of the Gulf business industry. This year, the exhibition coincides with the 32nd anniversary of Gulf Cooperation Council.
