Environment And Protected Areas Authority Celebrates World Food Day

The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah has organised a celebration at the Natural History and Botanical Museum in Desert Park to mark World Food Day.

This year's celebration comes under the theme of: "Feeding the world, caring for the earth".

The event began with welcoming students of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services and visitors to the Natural History and Botanical Museum, where the supervisors took them on a tour of the Botanical section and explained to them the importance of plants in human life, the sources of food and medicines, and the uses of natural products of trees such as wood.

Dr. Latifa Mohammed Rashid, Head of Nutrition Section at the Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, made a speech on the importance of healthy dietary habits and awareness of unhealthy habits that can affect employees during work and the impact of those behaviours in their daily life, in addition to the direct impact of dietary habits in getting a healthy body free of problems and diseases.
