The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage is participating at the Sharjah International Book Fair for the first time, which is being held from 5thto 15thNovember 2014. The Book Fair is one of the most famous international book fairs, serving as an ideal platform for showcasingthe latest publications in literature and culture from all over the world.
The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centerhas introduced five new publications, in addition to the diverse collection being exhibited. Among these publications is Al Mutawasif, a book written by His Excellence Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook, CEO of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center.
On the occasion of the launch of his book at the Sharjah International Book Fair, His Excellence Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook stated, “I am extremely pleased to launch Al Mutawasif at this prestigious book fair, after all the research and dedication that has gone into its making.Through this book, which focuses on Emirati proverbs and heritage,I hope to enrich the UAE’s library collections.”His Excellence also did a book-signing event at the launch of his bookat the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Stand, No. 16, Hall No. 5, in the presence of dignitaries and media representatives.
Dr. Amina Khamis Al Dhaheri, Director of Studies and Research at the Hamdan Bin Mohamed Heritage Centre, said, “We are delighted to participatein the Sharjah International Book and showcase works that cover a range of subjects such as Nabatean poetry and Emirati traditions.” She stressed that the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center is fully committed to supporting the publication and dissemination of academic research that relates to the different aspects of the UAE’s heritage and history, particularly the era before the discovery of oil. The academic research paperspublished by the Center are equivalent to Masters and Doctoral theses, and will serve as a seminal resource for researchers and academics in the field of cultural and heritage studies, providing a systematic and scientific insight into the rich legacy of the UAE.
