H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued administrative resolution No. (1) of 2015, establishing the Sharjah 24 news website under the purview of Sharjah Media Centre (SMC).

According to the resolution, the daily e-news website will have Sharjah city as its headquarters and may open, upon a resolution issued by the SMC chairman, branches or offices within the UAE or abroad.

The resolution defines the objectives of the news website as: 1) To be a reliable reference for daily news - in Arabic and English - about events taking place in the emirate of Sharjah and the UAE; 2) To capture interest of members of the public through delivery of diverse, interesting news services; 3) To provide accurate, reliable information in coordination with local and federal competent authorities.

The website will transmit news of the emirate of Sharjah in particular and those of the UAE in general through the open internet space and cover local and federal political, economic and social events with complete transparency and integrity.
