Everyday, the Social Media Centre at the Sharjah Heritage Days (SHD) receives visitors who have questions and answer their inquiries. The centre, which is vital platform for SHD, is strategically situated in the square and easily accessible to visitors. It is one of the most visited locations at SHD, which visitors, guests and heritage lovers always look for.
Khawla Al Shamsi, General Coordinator of the 13th Sharjah Heritage Days, remaked that the social media centre is a very appealing and functional idea that adds value to the activities and agenda of the SHD, particularly as social media networks play an important role in presenting audio-visual documentation, which is exactly what the centre is doing through its passionate volunteers.
She added: Through the Social Media Centre and its enthusiastic volunteers, we can use social media networks to introduce and promote Sharjah Heritage Days and to leverage this technology to do this job impeccably. Sharjah Heritage Days have gained a great exposure through social media networks.
She clarified that Sharjah Heritage Days is an important cultural extravaganza that is full of culture and fun-filled vibrant activities and programmes for the whole family. The cultural programme includes lectures and seminars in heritage, culture, and knowledge. We have, also, such activities as Child Heritage Village, Five Senses Village and shows performed by local, Arab and international folklore bands, in addition to daily competitions such as the photography, proverbs, Lageit Yadooh ( Found Grandfather), wit and daily riddle competitions, in addition to the social media centre which palys a significant role in promoting the event, she added.
Essa Al Baloushi, a co-founder of the centre, said: The main task of the Social Media Center is to promote Sharjah Heritage Days through a 10-volunteer team who have excellent knowledge in social media, as well as journalists, photographers, experts and celebrities in social media who are ready to collaborate with all visitors and guests and introduce the idea professionally in Arabic and English. We have many programmes, competitions and quizzes at the centre.
The centre team's members are touring from one activity or program to another to brief to the guests or visitors about the project or the idea. We are welcoming social media guests and celebrities, Emirati artists, TV and theatre actors and actresses who communicate and interact with the audience.

Our activities include a daily heritage competition, discussion panels, and stage activities in participation with many artists such as Al Al Jassmi, Nawaf Hussain, Khoulod Al Maleh, Azara Al Suwaidi, Musaaf Al Naqbi, Ghanim Al Nasser, and many more.
