Sharjah Media Corporation is gearing up to launch a lineup of programmes and drama series on its various channels in Ramadan 2015. The new schedule includes a variety of programmes that cater to different interests and vary from literary to cultural, intellectual, art and society, economic, financial, tourism and media programmes. The programmes and drama series will be broadcast live or on replay during the morning and evening hours.
The launch of the programmes is in line with the corporation’s movement to support the trend among viewers’ to learn more about the meaning of the holy month and to focus in its programmes on the family and children. The programmes aim to instil Arabic and Islamic values in the Emirate and UAE and to celebrate and highlight these values in order to raise the profile of Sharjah globally, in keeping with its reputation as a capital of Islamic culture. The lineup includes programmes focusing on art, entertainment, and national features, especially those related to local folklore in Ramadan.
In a statement on the occasion, Dr Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Director General of Sharjah Media Corporation, said: “The Corporation is keen to provide high quality programmes to educate, entertain, and amuse its local and Arab viewers during Ramadan. The corporation’s channels have prepared the necessary programmes to support their tireless efforts and care for spreading cultural awareness in the community while taking the aspect of meaningful entertainment into consideration. The Ramadan programmes this year will be competitive and of superior quality and will continue the SMC’s successes in supporting the Emirate’s position as capital of Islamic culture and a safe oasis for families and children.”
Sharjah Media Corporation intends to announce the details of new programmes for the holy month of Ramadan during a press conference that will be held at its headquarters at 11:00 am on Monday, 18th of May 2015, in presence of representatives of its various channels, including Sharjah TV, Al Sharqiya from Kalba, the Non-Arabic speaking channel and Sharjah Radio.
