SCTDA Celebrates ’Hag Al Layla’ With Children And Elderly
(2 June 2015)

Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) celebrated ‘Hag Al Layla’, an annual occasion coming midway during the month of Sha’aban, with children and the elderly in Sharjah.

SCTDA celebrated the occasion as part of efforts to preserve popular traditions and values of national heritage, offering moments of joy for the children and the elderly as people in the UAE prepare for the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

During this year’s celebrations, SCTDA reached out to a large section of people with representatives from the Authority visiting Abdullah Trim School as well as a home for the elderly and a care home for orphans.

To add to the celebratory mood, ‘Mouj’, the mascot of the Sharjah Water Festival distributed ‘Hag Al Layla’ sweets and gifts to the children and the elderly, and took photos with them in an atmosphere of joy and fun.
