It’s fantastic, says Bahraini family after being reunited with their Emirati relatives
In a touching emotional scene, Sharjah Police succeeded in reuniting two GCC families whose members had been separated for 10 years.
The reunion happened within four days of the police receiving a message via Instagram from a Bahraini family seeking Sharjah Police’s help to search for their relatives with whom they had not had any contact for 10 years.
The two families — a Bahraini family and an Emirati family — had failed to locate their relatives, which forced them to contact Sharjah Police in order to help them in their search. The Sharjah Police informed Brigadier Saif Mohammad Al Ziri Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, about the issue.
Lieutenant Abdul Rahman Abdul Aziz, of the media department at Sharjah Police, received the message from the son of the Bahraini family, Abdullah Eisa Yousuf Malallah, and he informed the police chief about the issue, who in turn, gave instructions to help reunite the two families.
Sharjah Police formed a search team headed by Lieutenant Abdul Aziz. The team contacted the family who resided in Bahrain to gather more information regarding their Emirati relatives who stayed in Sharjah. The search and investigation efforts resulted in identifying the names and location of the relatives.
The police contacted the relatives in Sharjah, and the family reunion took place at Sharjah International Airport.
It was a touching emotional scene that included hugs and tears of joy. The family extended their gratitude to Sharjah Police for their efforts. The two families were later taken to their relatives’ house.
Sharjah Police provided the family who came from Bahrain with tickets and accommodation.
“It’s fantastic, amazing, we can’t describe it,” members of both families toldGulf News fresh from their reunion.
“When the police called me to bring the good news, it was unbelievable; I don’t have the words for it,” said Yousuf Ali Yousuf Al Khaja, the son of the Emirati family,
Malallah said no words can describe his feeling when he saw the smile on the face of his parents when they met their relatives after ten years.
The two families thanked Sharjah Police for facilitating their reunion. “Sharjah Police have done a good job,” members of the two families told Gulf News.
