The Commercial Transport Activities Department, Licensing Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has briefed a delegation from Sharjah Police about the best transport activity practices & models applied in the Emirate of Dubai; which are compatible with the world’s top class standards.
To this effect, a meeting was held at RTA Head Office in the presence of Nabeel Al Ali, Director of Commercial Transport Activities; and Colonel Arif Al Shareef, Deputy Director of Central Operations, Sharjah Police; and a host of officials from both parties.
Al Ali praised such a gathering as it reflects the communication and interaction between government bodies in the UAE for the sake of improving the business procedures & performance, besides offering a platform for sharing experiences that pave the way for adopting best programs and world-class practices.
In a presentation made to visitors, Al Ali informed visitors about the Department’s vision & mission aimed at continually improving legislations and systems in place for serving customers, and ensuring a safe & integrated commercial transport. “The Commercial Transport Activities Department always seeks to adopt best-in-class programs & projects capable of enhancing its services & public profile. It attaches particular attention to the transformation to electronic services and teaming with various entities in Dubai in a bid to simplify procedures and overcome difficulties faced by the public,” commented Al Ali.
The delegation of Sharjah Police reviewed the roles & responsibilities of the Department mainly: licensing & policy of commercial transport activities, franchise services, and Agreements/MoUs made with other government entities and strategic partners along with their role in simplifying the processing of transactions with clients (transport and car rental companies, taxi plate owners, passenger commercial transport companies, and the transport of passengers on deluxe vehicles). Such efforts contribute to realizing the vision of the Dubai Government aimed at achieving people’s happiness.
A briefing was also made to visitors about the rental as well as commercial transport activities endorsed by the Department, and other activities that require endorsement from other entities such as the General HQ of the Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, and the Federal Transport Authority – Land & Maritime. The RTA also highlighted the electronic traffic system used by the Department in processing a variety of transactions such as the issuance, renewal, revision or cancellation of permits, along with a brief account about e-services and smart apps.
Visitors commended RTA’s relentless endeavours to adopt top-class projects & systems rendering it a key destination for various public entities in the UAE for sharing expertise & specialist programs in a variety of fields with a view to improving the business process to world-class standards.
