The much-anticipated course layout for the world-renowned Electric Run Sharjah on 25 March has been unveiled by organisers. Following the success of the Dubai and Abu Dhabi events, thousands are expected to fill the spectacular Sharjah waterfront route. Electric Runners will experience an unforgettable mix of lights and music in one of the most social fun run experiences on the planet!
Event organisers have created a unique route to bombard the senses through light, sound and even smell. The course layout maximises the setting of the Sharjah waterfront starting at Corniche Street passing through Khalid Lake trail, taking in Al Majaz Waterfront Park and looping back and finishing at the iconic Al Majaz Amphitheatre. The 5k neon-lit track will feature giant light installations, scented smoke machines, DJs blasting the latest tunes, and a finish line party where runners dance to a live DJ.
“Electric Run will transform Sharjah’s waterfront as it has never been seen before. Participants will experience an extraordinary urban route in a uniquely Sharjah setting.” said Race Director David Sanderson from Electric Run organisers Fast Track. “Electric Run is part of a new wave of night runs which is perfect for people of all ages and fitness abilities to take part in, making it a brilliant night out for friends and family.”
The event begins on the start line where participants will get amped to run the 5k distance through a combination of top hits, classic electronic tracks, and a programmed light display to help them dance their way across the start line. There are seven unique lands that will transfer Electric Runners to different worlds the first one participants will encounter is Electric Avenue which will feature an exciting light show dancing to the beat of the music a great back drop for an awesome selfie. Next up are the electrifying lights of the Colour Brick Road followed by the iconic Rainbow Road set with a total of 20 multi-coloured lit up arches line the road.
At the half way mark Electric Runners experience the magical world of Neffmau5 Land where runners can dance their way through a mesmerising land covered in hundreds of multi-coloured lanterns and UV lights and are refreshed with the first water stop.
The last land by Al Majaz Park is Electro Rainforest featuring around hundreds of vibrantly lit umbrellas hovering overhead, then participants run, walk or dance through the unique Teddy Bear Lane - a land of giant glow in the dark teddy bears and cupcake inflatables.
The final stop of the 5K experience sees all the participants go through The Powerhouse – an inflatable power station which marks the end of the journey and the second water station for runners – before they cross the finish line. This is where Electric Runners will be treated to the post-race party where DJs will be spinning the latest tunes to thousands of runners in the main festival area.
Tickets for the Electric Run Sharjah are available to buy online at www.ElectricRun.ae and at GO Sport stores in Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates and Fitness First Clubs in Sharjah, Mirdif City Centre and Burjuman Centre in Dubai as well as ticketing kiosks at Al Majaz and Al Qasba. Individual tickets are AED 185, fans are encouraged to register themselves and their friends soon before they sell out!
