Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) successfully concluded its 19th year of participation in Arabian Travel Market held at Dubai World Trade Centre from April 25 to 28, 2016. During the leading travel and tourism event, SCTDA held meetings with tour operators, government departments and industry decision makers from a number of countries.
The Sharjah delegation in the exhibition comprised major travel and hospitality entities in the emirate, Al Khalidiah Tourism, Al Shaab Village, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah, Hotel Holiday International Sharjah, Ramada Hotel Sharjah, Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa, Air Arabia, Aryana Hotels, Cozmo Travels, Environment & Protected Areas Authority, Golden Tulip Sharjah – Hotel Apartments, Hilton Sharjah, Lavender Hotel Sharjah, Lou Loua Beach Resort, Marbella Resort Sharjah, Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa, Radisson Blue Resort Sharjah, Sharjah Airport Travel Agency, Sharjah Healthcare City, Sharjah Institute of Heritage, Sharjah International Airport, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Sharjah Museums Department, Trav Talk, Al Majaz Premier Hotel Apartments, and Sharjah Premiere Hotel & Resort.
The highlight of SCTDA’s participation in the Arabian Travel Market 2016 was the launch of the ‘Sharjah My Family Destination’ campaign, aimed at supporting the family tourism sector and strengthening Sharjah’s position as a leading destination for family tourism in the region.
The ‘Sharjah My Family Destination’ campaign will introduce new tourism offers and packages by tour companies, hotels and leisure destinations for families visiting Sharjah from within and outside the country. It will establish direct communication with the public and family tourists through the Authority’s social media channels in order to learn about their requirements and enhance the development of Sharjah’s family tourism sector.
In its 23rd year, Arabian Travel Market 2016 represented one of the most important tourism events in the global tourism sector that contributes to the inflow of foreign tourists in the Middle East.
