The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), has announced that H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved 600 scholarships for outstanding students of University of Sharjah (UoS) and American University of Sharjah (AUS).
The gesture confirms Sheikh Sultan's desire to develop the higher education and alleviate financial burdens on families.
Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, said that the Sharjah Ruler's allocation of 600 scholarships to distinguished Emirati students confirms his keenness to provide the best educational opportunities, which would further contribute to preparing qualified national students to meet the needs of the labour market in various technical and administrative specialties.
He also referred to Sheikh Sultan's directives to government departments on the need for concerted efforts to support students and give them practical training opportunities to raise their efficiencies and hone their skills to keep up with the latest global developments and technologies.
