A selected group of young ladies and men from Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, Sharjah Youth Centers and Sharjah Children Centers will participate in TEDx Youth onference for young people, hosted by Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah. Independently organised by a group of volunteers at Sajaya headquarters in Al Qarayen, the event will be held next Saturday, September 24th at 9:00 A.M.
The conference, which is part of TED’s series of conferences, will take place in Sharjah for the second consecutive year. It is aimed at providing an ideal platform for young people who believe in the value of their ideas. Young participants will share their achievements, success stories and inspiring ideas with the audience; the aim of the conference is to discuss effective ideas that could make a positive change in community.
Speaking on the occasion, HE Sheikha Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi, Director of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah and owner of TEDx license, said: “Through this event, we aim to achieve the vision of Wife of His Highness Ruler of Sharjah, HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, in promoting the creativity of young people. The young participants will have the opportunity to speak about their experience, share their life achievements and convey lessons and messages that could be learned by other young participants. The presentations vary in topics, from humanitarian to scientific, intellectual, technological, social and other topics.”
She added: “The excellent outcome of the 1st TEDx event in Sharjah was inspiring. Therefore, we have been encouraged to host this event again this year. The concept of TEDx is in line with the strategy of Sharjah and UAE in nurturing young talents. Through this participation, we are able to promote youth and inspire the community. This will help to inculcate a new generation of motivated thought leaders who are able to make a positive change in their community”.
HE Al Qasimi commended the great response from youth who were eager to take advantage of this global experience. She expressed her delight at seeing the participation of successful youth from different GCC countries. According to her, the strong local and regional participation will enrich the conference and its activities.
The conference will host 14 speakers and the first 100 attendees who registered on the website in record time.
