’Flavor Of Paris’ At Masrah Al Qasba Theatre On January 10, 2017
(21 December 2016)

Stunning French style entertainment at the Sharjah World Music Festival

The ‘Flavor of Paris’ music concert, featuring French accordionist and composer Daniel Mille, pays a personal tribute to legendary Argentinian accordionist Astor Piazzolla at the performance, playing tango in a creative band of three cello players and one double bass player. The concert will be held at Masrah Al Qasba Theatre on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 09:00 pm, as part of the fourth edition of the Sharjah Music World Festival (SWMF), which is organised by Furat Qaddouri Music Centre and sponsored by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).

Mille will play some key music pieces of late Argentinian accordionist Astor Piazzolla, who was one of the foremost composers of tango music in the 20th century revolutionising tango by incorporating elements of jazz with classical music, elevating traditional tango to new horizons.

Daniel Mille is one of the world’s most celebrated French accordionists, who started playing the accordion when he was 12 years old, but stopped for some years. His passion for the instrument was reignited after hearing the legendary Argentinian accordionist Astor Piazzolla, who was one of the world’s foremost accordionists. Mille began composing his own music and released 9 albums over 11 years.

Artist Furat Qaddouri, Manager of Sharjah World Music Festival, said: “Our event celebrates a variety of international music cultures. We were able to feature many great musicians and singers in our daily concerts especially because we a huge multicultural fan base. We aim, through this festival to promote the cultural presence of Sharjah and the UAE regionally and internationally.
