Following a decree from His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah to form the emirate’s first Higher Digital Transformation Committee, the workshop looked at avenues to begin planning the exploration, development and implementation of leading digital solutions to streamline services to citizens across Sharjah.

We intend to deliver improved, integrated and innovative methods to cater to every member of our society and economy.”

“This strategy will evaluate the present and future status of Sharjah’s residents, as well as allow more data to be stored within secure networks, which meet the highest international technology standards with the ability to constantly update information, in turn constantly enhancing citizens’ quality of life and work,” he added.

The workshop discussed the most significant options, in terms of stimulating the emirate’s economy, and protecting its environment, which includes buildings and premises smart services, as well as the general smart services that comprise education, transportation, health services.

It also showcased multiple options about the methods of transforming interpersonal competences and electronic information from different state entities into a unified information centre. It also illustrated how the digital transformation plans will be implemented through all fields of digital government services in Sharjah.

The workshop addressed the techniques of implementing digital transformation through a number of renewable energy technologies that contribute to establishing a sustainable infrastructure to transform many services into digital ones. It also illustrated the methods of attracting individual innovations through the on-going development of the Micro and SME sector.

DeG seeks to contribute to building the knowledge-based society through achieving excellence in digital and electronic transformation in the government sector, in addition to providing innovative electronic and digital services, employing highly skilled staff and utilising advanced operating procedures and technological systems, which meet international standards.
