Sahara Centre, leading retail, leisure and dining destination, has celebrated Emirates Red Crescent’s 34th anniversaryas part of its corporate social responsibility efforts duringan event that was hosted on 31st January at the charity’s office. The event follows Sahara Centre’s partnership with Emirates Red Crescent for World Orphans Day on 17th November 2017, when the mall warmly welcomed 30 orphans for a fun-filled day of activities.

Akram Ammar, Managing Director at Sahara Centre, commented: “We are delighted to have celebrated 34 years of the Emirates Red Crescent’s important humanitarian work, and to continue our partnership with the charity to improve lives across the UAE. This is aligned with Sahara Centre’s mission to safeguard our community’s children by helping them toward a brighter future and making meaningful contributions to their lives.”

The anniversary celebration featured a host of activities for children and saw Sahara Centre donating entertainment equipment including a TV, sound system and PlayStation, which were installed at Emirates Red Crescent’s office. At the event, Sahara Centre also presented the orphans with gifts from the wish lists they compiled during the mall’s World Orphans Day event.

Mohammad Al Zarouni, Director of Emirates Red Crescent added: “On the occasion of our 34th anniversary, we remember all of the organisations and individuals who have contributed to our humanitarian work over the years. Sahara Centre is one of our key partners and the team’s support has helped us  improve lives and make a real difference. We are grateful for the mall’s generous donations, which will go toward making our headquarters a warm and welcoming place for those in need.”

The eventis a continuation of Sahara Centre’s work with Emirates Red Crescent, which reflects the mall’s dedication to serving the community by supporting and nurturingunderprivileged children in every way possible.
