As part of its efforts to promote health awareness in Sharjah and to encourage members of society to follow a healthy lifestyle, the Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah participated yesterday (Tuesday) in the events of Sports Day that were organized for children and young adults. Sports Day was organized by Sharjah Youth, which falls under the umbrella of “Rubu’ Qarn to create Leaders and Innovators.”
The department was keen to offer free health tests to all the participants of the event. The examinations included tests for blood pressure, diabetes, weight, height, body mass index, and teeth examination. The department all demonstrated tips and advice on healthy practices and nutritional foods that help to maintain the health of the participants.
The health tests were met with enthusiasm by the youth that were in attendance on Sports day. The event reflects Sharjah’s interest and keenness to care for its youth and young people in every way, which includes their health and the level of activities and sports that they engage in.
