Sharjah Maritime and Sharjah Aquarium are organising a Maritime Parade while Sharjah Discovery Centre will host a flag made of flowers and a mural that pays tribute to the nation at the Sharjah Art Museum. A seminar on the ‘Sound of Emirati Identity’ will be held at the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization. Al Mahatta Museum, Sharjah Archaeology Museum, Sharjah Natural History and Botanical Museum and Sharjah Science Museum will also host various events for visitors and their families including workshops and games.

A parade and various activities including best traditional dress competition and poetry & cultural sessions will be held in Kalba in cooperation with Kalba Ladies Club, Kalba Arts Centre and Bait Sheikh Said Bin Hamad al Qassimi.

“The UAE National Day celebrations reiterate the importance of unity in thinking and the commitment to work towards the socio-economic growth of the nation,” said Manal Ataya, Director General, SMD.

“We thank the visionary minds for driving the growth of this nation. They gave not only the freedom to dream but the courage to achieve our dreams. This is the legacy of the UAE, and one that must be inculcated by every UAE resident on this day. Our celebrations are aimed at highlighting this spirit of togetherness and achievement,” added Ataya.

The Sharjah Museums Department, established in 2006 by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, aims to promote the emirate’s rich legacy of arts, heritage and culture. For more information on the Sharjah Museums Department, please visit www.sharjahmuseums.ae.
