H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, said that the University had achieved global recognition as one of the premier educational institutions worldwide, according to several international rankings.
In the latest US News Global Rankings, the University of Sharjah claimed the first spot in the UAE and secured fourth place among Arab universities. Globally, it stands at 261st out of 2,250 universities and institutes, and 55th in Asia.
Sheikh Sultan praised the efforts of the University's Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, and students, who have all played a significant role in achieving this remarkable accomplishment for the Emirate of Sharjah.
He also praised the guidance of the leadership of the University's founder H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which has propelled the University to excel in sustainable green science, engineering, energy sciences, and scientific publications.
Sheikh Sultan also highlighted the significant advancement of the University of Sharjah in citations by scholars and researchers. The University is now ranked in the top 1% globally, holding the 38th position, making it one of the most cited universities in the world.
The US News Global Rankings evaluate universities based on criteria including academic reputation, research impact, international collaborations, and doctoral degree awards, reaffirming the University of Sharjah's commitment to excellence in global education and research.
