Teams participating in the final round of the F-1 Powerboat World Championships - Sharjah Grand Prix 2009 have arrived in the emirate of Sharjah, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has announced. The competition is due to take place on 10 and 11 December 2009 at Khalid Lagoon.

The SCTDA, led by H.E. Mohammed A. Al Noman, stated that Sharjah is ready to host the prestigious event, for which it has won five awards for best organization in previous years.

Also arriving to the emirate are media representatives from GCC and other countries who will provide media coverage for the duration of the event.

Media representatives covering the event have arrived from KSA, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sweden, Germany, Russia, the Ukraine and Italy.

A number of tours have been organized to introduce media teams to the emirate of Sharjah, including tours of the UAE’s northern region and its museums - such as the Sharjah Culture Museum and Sharjah Maritime Museum.

The fun and entertainment at the Etisalat-Sharjah Water Festival 2009 continues at Al Majaz Park until 12 December 2009.

The Festival features government-organised activities. presented by the Sharjah Museum Department and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, fun contests and children’s shows run by Sharjah Municipality and youth centers, military music shows by the Sharjah Police and speciliazed exhibitions and workshops for children by the Environmental and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) and Arts Department.

The event also features fun and entertainment attractions for children at Mouj Land, musical bands shows, the grand finale of the F-1 Powerboat World Championships - Sharjah Grand Prix 2009 at Khalid Lagoon.

Mouj Land provides numerous funs and entertainment activities for kids, where children have the chance to participate in numerous activities and games, interact with other children, and watch the exciting acrobatic pirate show. Kids can also take part in fun activities such as face painting, take pictures with their favourite character “Mouj”, and participate with numerous fun and educational contests offering lots of gifts and surprises.
