Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah would like to announce the appointment of Mr. Basel Talal as General Manager with effect from 24 November, 2009; Mr. Basel Talal succeeds Mr. Guy Chidiac.
Basel, a Jordanian national, started his professional hospitality career in 1994 as Duty Manager and Night Manager of the Holiday International Hotel in Aqaba. Over the next decade and half, Basel went on to clock the various milestones in his career. In 1996, he joined Rezidor as Front Office Manager of the Radisson SAS Hotel in Aqaba and was later promoted to Operations Manager of the same hotel two years after. He transferred to the Radisson SAS Hotel in Muscat, Oman in June 1999 as Front Office Manager and was promoted to Executive Assistant Manager a year later.
Basel had been working as General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia since December 2002, which is his prior position. As a winner of the Per Axel Brommesson Scholarship Award, Basal went on to attend a variety of courses, including “New Hotel Concepts” and “Food & Beverage Operations” at the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne.
In the midst of a fast-changing and variable economic climate, Basel’s dynamic approach, coupled with his extended wealth of knowledge and experience in this industry, would lead the resort to greater heights.
