Sharjah Museums Department Launches New Programme To Support Educational Curriculum
(2 October 2011)

Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization hosted over 38 teachers of Islamic Education in the first of a series of workshops organized by the Department of Education and Interpretation at the Sharjah Museums Department.

The initiative is part of the museum’s efforts to enhance communication with the Sharjah Educational Zone and to raise awareness among teachers in the UAE, in general, and Sharjah, in particular, about the role of educational programs and their importance to supporting the school curriculum.

The workshop targeted the teachers of Islamic Education and aimed at introducing the new educational program and how to connect the educational curriculum with the museum’s contents. Teachers were invited to benefit from this service and attract more students to the museum.

Commenting on the occasion, Ms Alya Burhaima, Head of the Department of Education and Interpretation at the Sharjah Museums Department, said: "We are proud of the new programme, which was launched as part of a series of integrated activities which give emphasis to the goal of our new initiative since Sharjah Museums are accessible to all".
