Sharjah Holding JSC, the community focussed real estate developer and strategic partnership between the Government of Sharjah and Majid Al Futtaim Properties, today announced its first major project delivery with the opening of its first Matajer neighbourhood retail centre at Al Quoz.

Sharjah Holding was established in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Sharjah, under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and His Excellency Mr Majid Al Futtaim, founder and president of Majid Al Futtaim Holding.

Sharjah Holding’s key focus is on the development and management of retail and mixed use projects in Sharjah which include Matajer, a neighbourhood shopping centre concept.

Anchored by a supermarket anchor retailer and featuring a range of high quality retail, food and beverage brands as well as services, Matajer has been developed to bring the design, quality and ambiance that consumers have come to expect from larger format Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls to local communities.

Following the delivery of the first Matajer at Al Quoz, three more centres are currently under development at Al Juraina, Al Mirgab and Al Khan and are all set to open in the first half of 2012. Sharjah Holding is also working closely with its key stakeholders to meet the growing consumer demand for community retail.

Sharjah Holding is also developing an integrated mixed-use community located in close proximity to Sharjah University City, Sharjah International Airport, SAIF Zone and the major road links to Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
