Keeping up his word that he will present an ’account book’ of the cultural march of the Sharjah emirate, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi will release his new book soon.
Entitled ’Harvest of Years: Thirty years of cultural work in Sharjah’, the book written in Arabic will be released at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2011 due to kick off on 16th November.
Setting up the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information Earlier in 198, the Ruler had said: " Enough of the concrete revolution, let us build culture".
Rolling out an ambitious strategy of development that covered building of a strong infrastructure, the emirate began its powerful march of cultural development in the following years.
Within two decades the emirate was voted the Cultural Capital of the Arab World by UNESCO.
The new book authored by the ruler chronicles the important milestones the cultural march passed by during the last three decades.
